The Day 5 in the School

The question of order was the first topic brought up today, important enough. So what can do if there is 5 chattering pupil who really cant work without talking and it goes on and on and then the all class is chattering.
That just brings up an question to what extent the art facilitator suppose to interact in order to keep the order. might the work has to be that amazingly interesting that there is no time for chat, but what is an interesting work/task? perhaps we need go back to the question about using our imagination beside our skills when doing the work. when the work is done automatically then the children feel that there some chat can be done as well. how to get children immerse to an imaginary world and keep the concentration level to develop the actual work. some task.

4th day in the school

Today almost can see the spring in the air in the class. everyone is so chaty and there is really difficult to get to good concentration level. Some works get spoiled but in overall the work is done. some nice surprise from students that show ability to get a fast grip on the thing, the accuracy that is just amazing or enjoying the work in a small team.

The Day 3 in the School

The previous project is finished and I can see that the children are happy with the result. Time for the next one. After the PowerPoint presentation of different style and use interiors the children are asked to draw their own dream interior or two. I think that perhaps only the visual perception was preoccupied during the presentation and a superficial discussion was created. I could see that when the children returned to their sketch pad they didn't show much reflection to the material they had seen in the presentation. I think that this is something that I will take in consideration when I will prepare for my own project in this class.
By the way there is something I want ask to my follower's family: how do you think is that appropriate to ask the children to hide their own work from the other classmates? Just in case they might copy any idea that is not their own.

a day in the school

I went in today to see the 6th class in work for 1st time.It was interesting to watch how much input and a motivation has a child in a 6th class. If the aim is to make an impressive body of work during the class it require quite some preparation. I think for child to make art at that stage could be a sums of concentration, motivation, and imagination. I think if a child has two of these there should be an impressive outcome. To reach that result the art facilitator puts in a great energy. At 1st the art facilitator has to keep an attention of students, 2nd have to explain basic rules/idea how to reach the aim, 3rd make sure that all the materials are handed out and keep an eye on work in progress. Thats a lot to do in a class of 25 children.

Auction

There was a good response in today's charity auction ; both from the artists and the buyers. And here I posted my painting that I've donated.
We are so far from disaster in Haiti..... I even didn't give a tener for a drawing, so selfish .....I was thinking that's enough if I donate painting, and I was going not spend a cent more. decisions...
Altogether it was interesting to watch what people are baying . But how was the day in Haiti today?

Art Alongside is a project where artists work with children in local schools. A lecture with introduction to practicing Irish and international artists gives an inspiration for children's own original work. The project is orientated to encourage the creativity of each individual child and their skills building.

children's addiction to the tv

all children love to watch animation films, what is the thing that make them addict to television, is that bright colors, action, story or continuity? would making animation themselves change anything in their perception?
